Clinical Observation on Carcinoma of the Cervix

Abstract
According. to R. Schroder(1959) about 35% of carcinoma in the female originate fro the genital organs, and 85 % of them are said to be uterine cancer. A statistic study on clinical Observations on. 104 cases of cervical carcinoma and post operative findings were made during the period of Aug.
1961 to Aug. 1962. Fifty three cases out of 104 patients were operated upon under the classification of stage 0 to stage IIB.
Stage IIA The cancer involves not only the cervix but the vaginal wall within its. upper two thirds.
Stage IIB The cancer involves the parametium even in the case of vaginal invasion.
The results -obtained are as follows:
Percentage of each clinical stage of 104 patient of cervical carcinoma
Stage 0 -5 -cases. 4.8%.
Stage I 19 18.3%.
Stage IIA 7 6.7%.
Stage IIB2221.2%.
Stage III 38 36.5%.
Stage IV 13 12.5%.
Out of these 194 cases, 3 were associated with pregnancy and 6 were within 1 year after the last
delivery.
2) Histological types:
Squamous cell carcinoma... 50 cases 94.3%
Adenocarcinoma..3 cases 5.7%
3) Age distribution -of :carcinoma of the cervix was ranged between 26 to 72 with the maximum
incidence between 41 to 55 year of age.
4) As to the subjective symptoms of cervical cancer: irregular¢¥ bleeding was 67:3%. foul discharge 63.4%. vaginal spotting 26.9% and rectal or bladder symptoms were accompanied with advancement of clinical stages.
5) Duration of marital life in cervical cancer patients was ranged from 21 to .30 in maximum incidence and in all cases they were either once married or in marriage. Out of 104 cases 14 were single due to -divorce or death of their husband.
6) Menarche. marriage. and the first delivery.
The age of menarche shows its peak in 16 years.
